What is a BumFloat?

The inspiration for the BumFloat came from years of wearing life jackets upside-down (legs through the arm-holes) to lounge around in the water. It may sound odd, but doing so gives you perfect buoyancy and free range of motion with your arms and legs, while floating the user in a nearly vertical position in the water. The BumFloat replaces the age-old, upside-down life jacket trick.

I look silly in this thing.

Yes, you do. But who cares? Remember, your BumFloat is the last thing you put on before you get in the water and the first thing you take off when you get out. So no worries. Trust us, when you’re bumming around in the water and all your friends ask where you got it - you suddenly look like the coolest one of all.

Why not just use a life jacket?

Because life jackets aren’t made to be worn upside-down. They’re bulky. They don’t fit correctly. They’re difficult to put on, chafe your legs and become too cumbersome, even in the water.

What size is right for me?

BumFloats come in two sizes - M/L (28"-36" waists) and L/XL (36"-42" waists). While the M size is rated for 28" waists and above, it will absolutely fit our super-skinny fans. You may not be able to cinch the adjustable straps tight around your skinny little waist - but you will absolutely have a comfortable fit and float.

What makes it so special?

We’ve designed the BumFloat to be comfortable in the water, outfitting it with 4 adjustable straps in just the right places to fit just about everyone. The BumFloat allows you to float in an upright position with your shoulders at the waterline, giving you complete range of motion with both arms and legs. BumFloats also have built-in loops for tethering. Tether to the dock, to the (anchored) boat, or to a bunch of fellow Bums.

How do I put it on?

Just before you get in the pool, lake, or ocean, simply place your left leg through the leg hole, pull the BumFloat up around your waist, and clip the right side together. Now that you’re all strapped in, use the 4 adjustments straps (2 on either side) to secure the BumFloat in place for a comfortable fit.

Where do I use this thing?

We like to use our BumFloats at the lake, the pool and in relaxed oceans. Others use them for everything from physical therapy to snorkeling. You can use your BumFloat in any calm water hangout spot.

What’s it made of?

The BumFloat is made from quality materials including EVA foam, cordura, nylon and neoprene.

That’s it, I gotta have one.
